Although we are a Chicago based company operating primarily in the Chicagoland area, we are available nationally and internationally for long term projects.

We are conveniently located in the heart of Chicago near the main convention centers and centrally located hotels, if there is a need to organize a workshop for larger groups.

History:

Otavala Consulting began in 1992 when Dr. Wahlstrom started consulting in Honolulu, Hawaii. At that time, Otavala was known as Apollo Consulting, Inc., and primarily did corporate training and teambuilding using the MBTI technique. During this time, Dr. Wahlstrom worked with the Hertz Corporation headquarters in Honolulu as well as part of State Representative, Noburo Yonamine’s team at the House of Representatives at the Hawaiian state legislature, to name a few of the many organizations Apollo worked with in Hawaii. The second phase of Otavala, Omni Management Group, LLC was opened in Pueblo, Colorado. While in Colorado, Dr. Wahlstrom and his team of consultants worked with the University of Southern Colorado performing socioeconomic studies and focus groups. Omni also worked with professional service providers such as Colorado Realty Reports, COTC Consulting, the Matthew Martin Law Firm, and many others. In 2000, Dr. Wahlstrom transferred to New York and continued working with a variety of non-profits. The Food Bank of Central New York, United Way and the Oneonta Chamber of Commerce were among many of the companies that benefited from Dr. Wahlstrom’s training experience. In 2007, Dr. Wahlstrom and Katrina Wahlstrom founded Otavala Consulting in Chicago, Illinois. Otavala was founded and based upon the same principles and work that Apollo Consulting and Omni Management Group had developed. The firm added several new consultants to the team and has been growing rapidly working with companies such as BSU Enterprises Inc., Autumnus, Inc., the Finnish-American Chamber of Commerce and Advanced Property Specialists in the Chicagoland area. In this diminishing economy, Otavala continues to show growth and promise as a company while staying true to the seven basic principles that the company was originally established under.
